I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe. Styling looks around a few key pieces. In reality I have far too many clothes, including things I have only ever worn once and probably won’t wear again. But I am trying to be more sustainable and ethical with my fashion. Choosing quality pieces that will last, and shopping from brands committed to sustainability.
Lands’ End recently contacted me and asked me to create some looks with their t-shirts. So using the capsule wardrobe idea, I created a few different looks with some key pieces, focusing on using the same polo shirt in all of them. This is my one tee: five looks. Let me know what you think…
I chose this stripy polo from Lands’ End. I can’t resist a stripe and I think polo shirts can often be overlooked when it comes to tees. But I think they are a great option for creating smart casual looks for lots of occasions.
Look One
The first look is a timeless option. Pairing the tee with a long linen skirt and sandals, and a pop of colour with the cardigan. It’s an effortless look perfect for everyday errands and the school run, Comfortable and stylish and easily adapted with layering for our unpredictable British weather!
Look Two
I love look two. I like mixing casual and formal to create a relaxed tailored look. A blazer is a staple item for any wardrobe and is great paired with jeans. Plus you can’t go wrong with white pumps. Well unless you are at Glastonbury in the rain, then maybe white pumps aren’t so great! I think this look is perfect for so many things. Whether it’s a pub garden, restaurant, or Henley regatta!
Look Three
This look is all about a pop of colour. What I love about navy blue is the way it makes other colours pop. Whether it’s a pair of yellow cropped trousers like these, or a pop of pink, red, or orange. I think this is a really fun look for a day out with the kids, or meeting friends for a coffee.
Look Four
Look four is all about being busy with the kids. At the park, at the beach, having a picnic somewhere. I love the campaign on social media urging women to ‘wear the damn shorts’ and be comfortable in their own skin. And how can you not look amazing when pairing your tee and shorts with these cute polka dot pumps.
Look Five
This is one of my favourite looks. Mainly because I am obsessed with the tote bag and the gorgeous blazer. Pairing the tee with some wide leg linen trousers and the denim look blazer, creates a smart casual look perfect for a stroll around the shops and lunch with friends. The tote comes in a variety of sizes to suit your retail therapy needs! It can be personalised with your own monogram too.
Other Options
If the stripey polo isn’t for you, Lands’ End has lots of colour options available, as well as different styles of t-shirts. You can even add your own monogram for free and select from a range of font options to create the style you want. And of course there is a great range of other clothing items and accessories for you to style your own look and create your own capsule wardrobe.
