It has been a year since I wrote my very first post.  OK, it may have been another 3 months before I found the courage to go public, but still, a year!

I didn’t really have a plan when I started.  I knew nothing about running a website.  I just knew that I enjoyed writing and maybe in some ways it was about finding my voice again. I love being a stay at home mum, and as much as it does have it’s challenges, it doesn’t always stimulate the brain cells.  In fact, I think a few may have been damaged from too much Cbeebies!

So I started my blog, and people responded to it.  I’ve done many a happy dance when my work has been published by the likes of Mumsnet, Huffpost, Britmums, Netmums and Parent Dish.  Words I wrote getting published!

I’ve even had the opportunity to work with some fantastic brands and try some amazing products.

I nearly went grey over night when I went self hosted.  I did a bit of a re-brand and I’ve even written a bit of code!  I’ve learnt so much this year and found a fantastic community of bloggers that make me strive to be a better writer.

This month I ranked #470 in the Tots100 parent bloggers.  There are over 8000 parent bloggers, so although I’ve still got a long way to go before I’m in the top 100, I am in the top 6%.

I love writing my blog, but it’s down to you, the people reading it, that I have made these achievements this year.   Thank-you to all of you who read my blog.  Especially the one’s who share it and comment ;).  If you didn’t share it, people wouldn’t read it.

As a thank-you I’ve put together a competition with some fantastic must have parenting prizes.

Firstly allow me to share with you my top 10 most popular posts.  There’s some funny, a little bit of soppy, and a few hot issues too.  If you fancy a read just click on the image…

  6. Congratulations on your anniversary – it is scary at first isnt it?! I keep thinking about self hosting so would be great to hear from you with any tips and recommendations you might have. Heres to the next year 🙂 #toddlerapprovedtuesdays

    • Self hosted gives you a lot more freedom. There are some great plug ins to enhance your blog. All I would say is do it when you have a bit of time to get it sorted, and maybe write a short post to your readers let them know. If you want any specific info drop me an email 🙂

  7. Hello there! This is kind of off topic but I need some
help from an established blog. Is it tough to set up your own blog?
I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick.
I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where
to start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thank you

    • I knew nothing when I started. But it is easy to pick up. WordPress is a great platform. Going self hosted gives you more flexibilty with what you can do. There are some great blogs out there that offer great blogging tips. It’s where I’ve picked everything up from.
