Welcome to a new monthly series about the things I have bought or seen over the month that I love. Now some would say I shouldn’t be doing these kind of posts because it’s not exactly my niche. I used to write a monthly Five under £5 series, but it only had one reader (Hi Rozz). But the truth is I love reading posts like these and getting inspiration for new products to try. I also love shopping! It gives me a chance to practice my flat lay photography (still a work in progress). So I’m basically going to do it anyway!
I have a Birchbox subscription and I love my monthly delivery of products to try. There are some that have become favourites and this month I treated myself to two products that I really love. First up is this protect and detangle conditioner spray by Beauty Protector. You spray it in damp hair and job done. No more knots! It smells amazing too. It also acts as a thermal protector when I’m styling my hair and has UV protection too. I’m really fussy about what products I use in my hair, and to be honest find most don’t live up to the hype. Full marks for this one though.
My second Birchbox favourite is Marcelle golden glow BB cream. It’s at the pricier end of BB creams at around £25, but it is the best I have ever tried. It can be used as a make-up base, or worn on it’s own and I do both. It gives great coverage and colour and a little goes a really long way.
How cute is this! And it was from Poundland so a completely justifiable purchase! It looks great in my garden.
I have developed a slight addiction to this drink. And pretty much and drink with elderflower in it. I drink a lot of water, but sometimes it gets a bit, well, boring! But I don’t drink squash and I stopped drinking fizzy drinks like Coke. This is sparkling water with a hint of elderflower and it’s 100% natural. It tastes amazing. I’ve actually chosen it over a glass of wine on several occasions!
You can never have too many post it notes. I picked up this cute cactus set for £3 in Sainsburys.
It’s a bag. It has water melons on it. And it’s by Cath Kidston. Win. Win. Win. It’s actually from the kids section in Next but I couldn’t resist. It’s a bit on the small side, but I’ve never met a bag I haven’t found a use for yet.
I loved this book so much. Funny, sad, empowering. I could not put it down. Which wasn’t so great when page 391 made me swear very loudly in front of the small people! I think this book is a must read for every thirty / forty something woman. The Cows by Dawn O’Porter.
And finally The husband and I have been watching Good Girls on Netflix. It’s good!
