I’m not really one of those glossy blogs with stunning inspirational photos about home design. But seeing as our bedroom re-fresh involved a lot of blood (stubbed toes), sweat (shifting furniture), and tears (bloody fleur-de-lis), I thought I would share a few pictures of the finished result. You can read about the fleur-de-lis here.
It took me 12 paint samples and a rather disgruntled husband to find the paint colour I wanted, but in the end I choose Grey Skies by Wilko.
- Bedside Lamps: Ikea
- Canvas: Printed by Orbit Print
- Bedding: Next
- Cushions: Next and Not On The High Street
Our feature wallpaper remained unchanged but I added a picture rail from Ikea.
The prints were from Not On The High Street and the frames from The Range and Wilko.
A few accessories for the finishing touches.
- Tea Light Holders: Next

- Frame: Ikea
- Heart Ornament: The Range
- Candle Holder: The Range
- Candle: Wilko
Overall the bedroom feels really calm and serene, which is lovely as it is my office too.
What do you think?
Next stop the kitchen!

Aaah such a lovely collection of bits and pieces! I’m so nosey — I love seeing how other people decorate their homes and the things they collect to make a house their own. Thanks ever so much for sharing with #HomeEtc — Caro xx
That colour combination is lovely. I love that cushion on the bed as well. #HomeEtc
Looks fab – love the colour. I love grey, such a stylish colour. The picture rail is great too and may have to nab that idea for my bedroom
