So many businesses have struggled due to the impact of Covid this year. Which is why I think it’s more important than ever to support small businesses where we can. This is my selection of Christmas gift ideas from small businesses. I hope you find the perfect gift for someone you love.
Gifts for the kids
A small business that focuses on being environmentally friendly and educates children about endangered animals through their colourful characters. The packaging for each Planet Buddies product is made from 100% recyclable cardboard, with NO plastic use at all, and is printed with soy-based inks.
Planet Buddies offer a range of headphones, tablet accessories and smart speakers. They are lovely colourful and practical gifts for kids. You can find out more about Planet Buddies here.
I discovered Egg Nog during lockdown and it’s a great company with unique colouring gifts to keep the kids occupied.
Egg Nog was founded by Kate in 2009, after a visit to a restarant wheer her kids were drawing whikst waiting for their food inspired her to design and create colour in table cloths for kids.
The range now includes colour in wall paper, posters, picnic blankets and much more. My kids love them and they make lovely gifts.
Gifts for her
Jack & Freda
I’m a big fan of Jack & Freda jewellery and always get compliments on my earrings. The only problem is I want them in every colour variation! As well as being unique, Jack and Freda offers affordable jewellery.
All of the jewellery is designed and handcrafted by Jack & Freda’s founder Kylie Dunn.
I love anything stationery, but often find I buy from the big chains. I recently discovered Raspberry Blossom and I love their designs.
These make really sweet gifts, from to do list pads and notebooks, to writing sets.
Raspberry Blossom was started in 2014 by husband and wife team Rebecca and Mark. Together they run the business full time and aim to spread joy and smiles with their products.

They have some great gifts for the men in your life. I particularly liked some of their gadget gifts such as wireless charging banks.
Best of British Beer
Best of British Beer was created by husband and wife team Will and Gill Sherwin in 2011. They create Beer hampers using the best British independent breweries.
You can order hampers of ales, lagers and ciders. Some of the gift packs come with beer mats and a pub quiz too. It’s a great gift for those hard to buy for men in your life.

Gifts for couples
Cornish Hampers is a small family run business specialising in food and drink gifts from the region. I ordered one of these for my Aunt and Uncle last year and they loved it.
It’s a perfect gift for those who are being cautious in the current climate and staying home. They get to enjoy a little bit of indulgence.
Cornish Hampers offer various afternoon tea packages and other locally sourced food hampers. They are very reasonably priced to, particularly compared to other food hampers.
The Cheshire Gift Company
The Cheshire Gift company was founded in 2016 by Lucy and specialised in homemade wooden items.
I’ve ordered a few things from The Cheshire Gift Company now, because it’s hard not to go onto their website and find something that you love. I’m always really impressed by the quality and value for money of the products.
There are some gorgeous home accessories which would make lovely Christmas gifts.
