This months Blog Love is dedicated to Susie from So Happy In Town S.H.I.T

blog love so happy in townI look back at the first posts I wrote and I cringe.  Over my three years of blogging my writing style has changed and developed.  As has the look of my website as I learnt more about blogging and designing websites.  Susie however has appeared to know what she was doing from day one.  I fell in love with her blog, So Happy In Town immediately.

Susie’s posts always leave me wanting more.  They are infectious.  In a just one more Prosecco way, rather than a warts kind of way!   Her writing is witty, she owns her opinions, and her personality shines through in her writing.

Susie’s humour really appeals to me and her posts make me howl.  But she’s not afraid to tackle serious and important topics too, and I love the variety that her blog has.  Above anything else Susie’s posts are honest.  And that to me is the biggest thing I look for in a blog.  I want the good, the bad and the ugly. I want real, and Susie gives that.

I had the pleasure of meeting Susie at this years BML where she was a finalist in the Fresh Voice category.  I really enjoyed her company and hope we can meet again.  I have no doubt that she will be up for another award next year.

If you haven’t read any of Susie’s posts, please go and have a browse around So Happy In Town.  Take a cup of tea with you, you’ll want to stay a while.

About Susie:

Hi, I’m Susie, founder of So Happy In Town, aka S.H.I.T.

In my previous life, I worked on the trading floor in the City, and really embraced the work hard, play hard thing. I went to the best London bars and restaurants, and had an awful lot of fun.

I then decided that this corporate life had served me well, but I wanted to teach, and swapped bankers for primary children. Still not sure who is easier to manage.

Then Mr S.H.I.T. and I were lucky enough to have our first baby ten years ago, and we now have three amazing children, the little S.H.I.T.s. We still live in London and, as a family, we really are so happy in town.

But while we are very happy, it’s not all glowing rosy cheeks, as we skip through the streets of London, holding hands, and reveling in the wonderment of it all.

It’s hard at times and shit happens. Good shit and bad shit. Funny shit and not so funny shit. And that’s life.

This blog is for all of you out there who love living in town. You know it’s not always a bed of sweet-smelling roses (in fact sweet-smelling doesn’t often come into it) but you want to go out and enjoy what’s on offer, as a parent, and also as you, the individual you still are.

So I hope you enjoy sharing the highs and lows with me, and keep being forever S.H.I.T.

  1. You have just topped off my first year in blogging Claire by featuring me this month – it really is the icing on the cake. I am so flattered that you have chosen So Happy In Town and your words describing my blog have made my day, as you have summed up exactly what I was hoping to achieve with my writing. Thank you so much. It was great to meet you at BML this year and I look forward to catching up with you again in 2018. You truly deserved to win the Readers Choice award – I love your writing which makes you featuring me, even more flattering. Happy Christmas to you and your family xxxx
