It feels like I haven’t sat still since Christmas. Life is busy and and the past month I have been feeling it! I have very much been looking forward to some time to chill out. This months Five Under £5 is all the things I need to relax and unwind.
I picked up some little treats ready for next week when The Husband is out for the night. As soon as the small people are in bed I will be on a mission to do nothing but chill out.
So these are my Five Under £5 to relax and unwind.
Firstly I have a great bargain from Wilko’s. I love a cosy blanket when I’m curled up on the sofa of an evening. I couldn’t resist this one when I walked past the sale display. It didn’t have a price on and it was the only one, so I wasn’t sure if it should be there. But when I took it to the till it came up at £5, so now it’s mine!
Also in Wilko’s I found this gorgeous copper candle holder for £5. There’s something about lighting a candle that makes me feel warm and cosy and helps me relax.
One of the things I miss most from life before kids, is having the time to read. For me it’s the best way to relax and unwind. The only downside of me picking up a book, is that I can’t put it down until it’s finished. So for the next 24 hours I am basically unavailable! I’ve cheated slightly as this book is one I already have. I did buy a book this month, but it was so good I’ve lent it to a friend! This month I read Room, although the book in the photograph is my all time favourite book, P.S I Love You. Please see further down for book links.
Another real indulgence for me since having kids is a nice long relax in the bath. I literally have to schedule this time in now. So to make the most of it I bought this yummy marsh mallow bubble bath from Superdrug for £1.99. It was also buy one get one free, which is great as I like a lot of bubbles in my bath! It smells sooooo good!
And finally I picked up this artificial plant from Wilko’s for £4. I’m trying to inject a bit more plant life into our home. I think plants really brighten up a room and I like the sense of bringing the outdoors indoors. Ironically though none of the plants I have bought are real as after 38 years I have finally admitted that I cannot keep plants alive.
Those are my finds for this month. Let me know what you think.

I’ve never read PS I Love you but loved Room! I am a big fan of the sofa blanket too and this one is fab – and a fiver as well!! Amazing! thanks so much for joining in, sorry I am late posting again this month! xx
P.S I Love You is my favourite book of all time too! My husband recently tried to give it away to charity, I had to tackle him to get it back ha! I have also just bought that bubble bath but am yet to try it out – I got the cherry bakewell too which is amazing. Love this idea of Five under £5, I am going to check out Julie’s original post and perhaps join in soon 🙂
I love doing five under £5. It’s not my normal style but it’s fun and some budget indulgence!
