Being a mum is one of the hardest jobs on the planet. Although we all get on with all the running around without complaining too much, you have to admit sometimes we all need a little bit of me time. With this in mind, here are a few tips for treating yourself on a number of different budgets to make sure you don’t burn out:
Blow Out Spa Weekend
If you really need a break then there’s no better treat to yourself than a gorgeous spa weekend. Ring up one of the girls and book a weekend away at a beautiful spa where you’ll be able to completely relax and unwind away from the stresses and strains of everyday life. There’s loads of great deals on places like Groupon so you don’t need to splash out too much cash if you don’t want to, just make sure there’s someone around at home to look after the kids.
Splash Out Shopping Trip
Shopping is not the same once you have kids. Whether its navigating all those slow walkers whilst trying to push through the crowds or having the kids all cram into the changing rooms, the relaxing Saturday afternoons you used to spend wondering the shops are long gone. One of the best ways to treat yourself is to organise a kid free shopping day, either alone or with the girls and be sure to really enjoy it and treat yourself to some new bits and bobs. Some Neal’s Yard skincare, is a great investment and sure to keep you feeling good long after you get home from the shops.
Budget Supermarket Sweep
If you’re really on a budget, you can pick up a few little treats from the supermarket which are sure to make you feel relaxed and rejuvenated without the hefty price tag. Drop the kids of at the babysitters and buy a bottle of wine, some bath bombs and a box of chocolates. Be sure to run a steaming hot bath and lay back and relax with a few candles lit. You’ll love the peace and quiet and you can enjoy a chilled glass of wine and a few choccies watching a DVD on the sofa later.
So, with all these treat yourself ideas to get inspiration from, no matter what your budget is you’ll be able to enjoy a little bit of self-care this weekend. Hopefully, once you pick the kids back up you’ll be raring to go again.
