wellness guide

The corona virus pandemic has got us all in a funk. With gym closures, travel plans postponed or cancelled, and stay-at-home orders all over, it’s been harder than ever to maintain our normal routines, especially when it comes to our health.

So how can you stay in tip-top condition when it seems like the world is at an all-time low? Read on to see some simple ways you can keep your health in check with this wellness guide.

Catch Some Zs

We’ve all been there: you’re browsing Pinterest late at night when inspiration strikes! You grab your art supplies and start crafting a DIY project when all of a sudden, you realize it’s four o’clock in the morning.

And, uh, you have to wake up at 7:00 a.m.

Not only does a good night’s sleep keep us energized throughout the day, but it’s also essential for strengthening our immune system. These hemp CBD pills can help you fall asleep faster, and  they’ll also leave you feeling more refreshed in the morning.

Everyone knows that you’re supposed to drink at least eight glasses of water every day. But sometimes, you’ll make it all the way to lunch before realizing that coffee’s the only thing you’ve had to drink.

Our bodies are made up of about 60% water, so, to function properly, we need to make sure we’re drinking enough H2O. Among a host of other benefits, water absorbs the vitamins and minerals we consume so that we can stay healthy.

If you aren’t drinking enough water, consider one of these tips:

Buy an insulated water bottle. They’re easy to take with you wherever you go, and your water will stay cold and crisp all day long.

Make it a point to drink a glass of water every morning when you wake up. It’ll re-hydrate you, so you’re ready to take on the day.

Flavor your water to make it more exciting. You can buy liquid drink mix or drop in some sliced strawberries for spa water on the go. Mix different kinds of fruit together to find your favourite combination!

With that in mind, hydration is about A) drinking enough water (we’ve covered this) and B) the quality of drinking water. In order to keep things simple, just buy a filter system such as an under sink water filter.

Eat Healthier

After a long day of emails, deadlines, and (multiple) headaches, the drive-thru line can become pretty tempting. However, we need to be consuming healthy, nutrient-dense foods to support our immune system and keep us strong. So, before you leave for the day, pack yourself some nutritious snacks that are as tasty as they are colorful, and leave that fast-food joint in your rearview window.

Be More Active

Regular exercise keeps your heart and head healthy. If you’re not used to the recommended thirty minutes of daily activity, it’s best to start small by slowly incorporating exercise into your routine.

Here are some simple ways to start being more active:

Used to taking the elevator? Try the stairs instead. It might not seem like much at first, but it sure adds up over time.

If you have a dog, start taking them on long walks. Not only is it good for you, but you’ll also make your pup’s day.

Instead of circling around the parking lot looking for the best spot, start parking farther away. What’re a few extra steps anyway?

Grab a protein bar and find an online fitness tutorial. There are plenty of free classes for things like yoga, Pilates, and strength training available on the web.

Put it All Together

Although we’ve lost control over a lot of things in our lives due to the pandemic, we always have a say in how we take care of ourselves. The better you treat your body, the more effective it’ll be at fighting off illness. If you follow these tips, you’ll be feeling stronger and more content in no time!
