It’s safe to say we’re all tired of this pandemic. With kids being home-schooled, most people working from home and many unable to see their loved ones, a lot of us have felt the impact on our health. And, one area a lot of us are particularly struggling with is our eyes. With nothing else to do except look at a screen all day long, headaches, insomnia and eye-strain are all becoming a lot more common.

While it might be difficult to take a break from your screen, finding the right glasses can definitely help. The world of business is growing hugely, and it doesn’t stop with eyewear. Increasingly, there are more stylish, high-tech and cool options to choose from when it comes to types of glasses. Let’s look at them in more detail.

types of glasses

Progressive glasses

Progressive glasses are frames which have three different prescriptions in one lens. This makes life much more flexible as you essentially get three different pairs of glasses in one. Ideal, right? But what are the three different types? Progressive glasses allow you to do close-up work (like reading), middle-range work (like working on your computer), and long distance activities (like driving) all in one set. No need for multiple different frames now! If you’re not sure where to find them, progressive glasses at are hugely popular and there’s a great selection.

Transition lens glasses

Similarly, transition lens glasses give you more for less. These glasses adapt to your surroundings, changing tone and colour when you go from indoors to outdoors. This helps to shield you from the glare of bright sunlight – and also helps with screen work. As such, you get healthier and happier eyes, and you might not need to worry about buying an extra pair of shades. They’re great for people who spend a lot of time on the go and don’t want to keep switching.

Blue-light glasses

You might have already heard of blue-light glasses. They’re becoming increasingly popular as we’re all using screens more and more. But what do blue-light glasses do? It’s quite simple. Certain devices emit blue light, which can put pressure on your eyes and cause headaches or eye strain. It can also contribute to a bad night’s sleep. But, blue-light glasses block out the blue light from your screen, helping to keep your eyes more relaxed and comfortable. They’re great glasses for anyone who spends a lot of time working on a computer or phone. By investing in a pair, you could be improving your health and getting yourself a better night’s sleep.

Prescription sunglasses

OK, so prescription sunglasses aren’t as much of a novelty as the other high-tech options so far. But, you might be surprised to know that plenty of people don’t use them, giving themselves eye strain when reading outdoors on holiday, for example. Prescription sunglasses are great because they allow you to see everything clearly, even when outside in the sun, while still looking stylish. Reading by the pool should never be painful.
