I’ve been shortlisted in the BiB Awards!
I still don’t quite believe it. 200,000 nominations and votes were made in last years BiB Awards, and amazingly, this year I have been shortlisted to the final 10 in the ‘Family’ category.
The BiB Awards (Brilliance in Blogging) are one of the UK’s most popular blogging awards and are hosted by BritMums.
I am so excited to have been shortlisted. You never know when you write a post how it is going to be received. Writing is something so personal, and it’s sometimes scary to publish a post. Most of the time I try to write humerous posts, and I hope that they make you laugh. I sometimes worry that maybe people won’t get my humour, or find me funny. I’ve had the odd comment where people have taken a humerous post seriously and have therefore been offended. The funniest comments were when my Elf on Shelf post was featured on a popular parenting website. Who knew people could get so riled up about an elf!
I write posts from the heart, and have been known to get soppy, or have a rant about kids TV. I’ve even been brave enough to mention breast and bottle feeding (and then duck for cover). But above everything I always try to be honest about family life. The highs and the lows, the good and the bad, the ugly and the beautiful. It is beyond humbling when I receive comments from people telling me that my posts have helped them, or made them smile on a day filled with tantrums.
I love writing this blog. I work hard at it. But I really, really love it. It has grown from something that the husband read (he always laughs in the right places, so he’s a keeper) to something that thousands of people read each month. And every month that amazes me. It’s become my job! That’s a dream come true. So to be acknowledged by being shortlisted for a BiB really does mean so much to me. To be cheered on by my fellow bloggers offering their support is amazing. And yes, I am very aware that I have used the word amazing a lot in this post, but it is!
I would love it if you would vote for Life, Love and Dirty Dishes in the family category. I am up against some really strong competition. Some of my favourites in fact, and I’m not just saying that, some of them are on my blog love page!

And friends, family, friends of friends, and people on facebook that I haven’t seen for 20 years, you are obliged to vote for me through association 😉
