There’s nothing like a rainy day to bring on the cries of every parents nightmares, “I’m bored.”  But Netflix is my savior with the promise of a family movie.

Top tip: Watch your family movie in the afternoon so you can use the promise of watching it as bribery for good beahviour all morning.  You’re welcome 🙂

The biggest problem with Family movie’s is deciding what to watch.  There’s so much choice, do you go for something you haven’t seen before, or one of your childhood favourites?  If the big one had his way it would be Home Alone.  Every time!  Home Alone is a great movie, but after the 147th time it gets a bit old!  And the big one gets inspiration from Kevin’s ideas.  I went to put some clothes away in his bedroom the other day and he had boobie-trapped his wardrobe!

There were no arguments this time though as Netflix sent us this fortune teller to help us pick the movie we would watch.

The last time I used one of these it was to plan my wedding when I was 10 years old.  It told me I was going to marry Jason Donovan and have 12 bridesmaids all wearing peach.  I guess they are not always accurate.

We each chose two movies each to write on the fortune teller.

My Choices:

  • The Land Before Time
  • Charlotte’s Web

The Land Before Time Charlottes Web

The Husbands Choices:

  • Walking With Dinosaurs
  • The Flintstones

Walking With Dinosaurs The Flintstones

The Big One’s Choices:

  • Home Alone
  • Hotel Transylvania

Home Alone Hotel transelvania

The Little One’s Choices (Picked by the Big One)

  • Harry & The Dinosaurs
  • Shark Tale

Harry and the dinosaurs shark Tale

So popcorn at the ready we used our fortune teller, and guess what?

Great list! There’s a couple of new ones I didn’t think about. I’d love for my kids to enjoy the Flinstones.
