So you want to know all about me?  I’m Claire. I’m in my early mid thirties (37 still counts as mid, right?) and live in the South of England.  My claim to fame is that I once spoke to Phillip Schoefield on a Going Live phone in. I know, awesome.

The Family

I’ve been married to Lee for 11 years, and we have been together for 23 years.  We are the definition of the term ‘opposites attract’.  It shouldn’t work, but it does.

Together we have two gorgeous and very noisy boys. Harry, seven (the big one), he has a cheeky smile, never, ever stops talking, and genuinely believes he is a Ninja. Then there is Oliver, (the little one) he is two, and he never stops moving.  He is in training to become a stuntman and turning me grey in the process!

We live in a Lego house.  We don’t really, but we have so much off the stuff I could probably build one.

My Pleasures

I love chocolate.  I truly believe it is the answer to any of life’s problems. I also love rose wine, getting my eyelashes tinted, and Gerard Butler. One of my guilty pleasures is James Corden.  I have lots more, but you’ll have to get to know me a bit better before I tell you them! Oh and I love handbags.  Lots.

My Pet Peeves

I hate mushrooms.  They make me feel all weird and cringey if I touch them.  I have two major bug bears in life; number one, people who don’t say thank-you when you hold doors open for them, and number two, really sticky labels on things that don’t come off without you scrapping them with your nails and ruining your nail varnish.  Low tac people.  Low tac.

Join Me

When I’m not washing, wiping tears, tickling toes, or tidying toys I like to disappear inside my own head for a while.  That’s when this blog thing kind of happens.

So that’s me.  In a nutshell.  Join me on this crazy, scary and amazing journey through parenting, as I observe the highs and lows of life with small people.

Like anything in life, this blog is best enjoyed with tea and chocolate.  And you probably need a sense of humour too.

Check back every Sunday for a new post, and look out for my Rookie Mistakes series, the Friday Frolics linky, and more during the week.

Well I’m late thirties then (45 actually). My claim to fame is I’ve met the gorgeous Chris Daughtry who was on American Idol years ago (won’t mean much unless you watched it)…

    Hello there,
A lovey intro … 21 years together, wow! I can understand the low tac thing. I’m not keen on mushroom too and I can rarely turn down a chocolate, especially if it’s made of milk chocolate :-). And my … what a head space blogging has provided for many mums … I only paid attention to blogs when I became mum.
Nice getting to ‘know’ you some.
